The Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement is responsible for creating a strategic alumni engagement program that seeks to deepen engagement and involvement leading to increased financial support. This position is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage alumni, but also friends, donors, parents, students, and employees and provide tangible benefits in order to advance the goals of Wilkes University.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develops the vision, strategies, and goals for alumni relations and ensures fulfillment of those objectives.
- Manages alumni programs (i.e., Homecoming, class reunions, regional events, and affinity initiatives) that support the strategic plan and engage a diverse alumni constituency.
- Gives direction to the Alumni Board of Directors, providing vision and assistance in the development of initiatives to support the Association's strategic plan. Serves as ex officio Executive Director of the Alumni Association.
- Creates and executes an alumni engagement plan that uses data and strategic analysis to guide decision-making. Prepares statistical analytics and reports on engagement metrics.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external constituencies to best partner on engagement opportunities. Maintains a positive, collaborative work atmosphere by working and communicating effectively with alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, department colleagues, and friends.
- Sets direction for alumni communication strategies to engage constituents.
- Manages the alumni relations budget and resources as well as the alumni relations staff.
- Attends University events and functions during and outside of normal business hours with the purpose of meeting and interacting with alumni. Travel also required.
