The Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit (RN-ICU) provides direct patient care to critically ill patients, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to practice standards.
Description:At Wythe County Community Hospital, we offer a competitive compensation package that includes a $20,000 Sign on Bonus and Relocation Assistance for qualifying candidates. The RN-ICU role is a night shift position.
The RN-ICU provides direct patient care to acutely and critically ill patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
This role reports directly to the Director of ICU.
Qualifications:Minimum Education Requirements: A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Required Skills: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential. The successful candidate must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
The RN-ICU will be required to accept regular on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicates need. Availability to report to the facility within 30 minutes of notification is also required.
The ability to float to various clinical areas, where qualified and competent, is a necessary skill.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Handle with Care certifications are mandatory within specified timeframes. Additionally, licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or Compact licensure is required.
Minimum Work Experience: One year of previous ICU or CCU experience is strongly preferred.
