What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN -Medical/Surgical PRN position at Wythe County Community Hospital?
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Reports to: Director of Medical/Surgical/ECU
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Ability to be on-call and respond to facility within 30 minutes of notification
Required License/Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of hire
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA, or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX exam, or Compact licensure as a Registered Nurse, and in good standing with the Board.
Minimum Work Experience
Prefer one year of experience working on a medical/surgical care unit/telemetry unit, or orthopedic unit.
