Medical/Surgical RN Role at Wythe County Community Hospital
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Description:
The Registered Nurse, Medical/Surgical provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This role requires the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
This position reports directly to the Director of Medical/Surgical/ECU.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process and adhering to professional standards.
- Operate effectively in high-pressure environments and be flexible to meet the needs of the unit.
- Hold essential certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire, ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of hire, and current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX exam.
Requirements:
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- On-call availability and ability to respond to facility within 30 minutes of notification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience working on a medical/surgical care unit/telemetry unit, or orthopedic unit.
