RN-Womens Svcs at Wythe County Community Hospital Summary:
The RN-Womens Svcs provides comprehensive nursing care for obstetrical, gynecological, and newborn patients. This role requires critical thinking and clinical skills to manage complex situations.
Description:Our ideal candidate will provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. They will be responsible for caring for patients with various types of obstetrical, gynecological, and/or newborn situations.
- Triaging and treating life-threatening conditions
- Administering labor induction
- Providing post-operative care
- Educating patients and families about newborn care
They must be able to recognize, triage, assess, and effectively treat life-threatening conditions of the obstetrical patient. The candidate will also be responsible for admitting obstetrical patients to labor, inducing labor, delivering and caring for patients and newborns after delivery, and preparing gynecological patients for surgery.

Required License/Certification
BLS within 30 days from hire
NRP within 6 months of hire date
Fetal Monitoring within 6 months of hire date
ACLS within 6 months of hire date
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX exam, or Compact licensure as a Registered Nurse which includes the Commonwealth of VA, and in good standing with the Board.
Minimum Education
At least one year of previous experience in a Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Post Partum or GYN Department as an RN is strongly preferred.
