Wytheville Community College is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the WCC Crossroads site in Galax, Virginia. The Maintenance Technician will provide a variety of different skilled and unskilled trades. This position works to ensure that daily operations are completed to help fulfill the college’s mission. The successful employee will be an excellent team player in the facility and work cooperatively with all departments and tenants throughout WCC Crossroads. A team player is always striving for mission accomplishments and constantly wanting the entire team to be successful. This position must provide exceptional customer service skills in all aspects of the job. The successful employee will assist with construction and maintenance decisions, as needed. The employee will actively serve on college committees to which the employee is appointed.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Experience with building trades, mechanical systems, and ground cares;
Good communication skills; and
Ability to multi-task.
Grounds care training and certifications in equipment use/maintenance, and chemical applications.
