Job Description:

Job Responsibilities
Some of the job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Foot patrol of the grounds and buildings for main campus and/or off-sites;
Check doors and complete record of findings;
Secure buildings and open doors as needed;
Provide assistance to other departments within and without the college system;
Answer phones and questions from visitors in a professional and courteous manner;
Handle complaints using proper customer service methods;
Act as a liaison to emergency responders in the event of an emergency;
Complete required reports in a timely fashion ensuring the completeness;
Participate in emergency drills;
Evaluate the emergency drills process and provide feedback;
Report building and grounds deficiencies to the Maintenance Department and ensure proper warning material is used and displayed properly;
Display initiative and efficiency;
Practice good team work inside the department;
Practice regular and dependable attendance and punctuality;
Use knowledge and reasoning skills to make sound decisions that enhance the mission of the department and college;
Obtain and maintain certification in Taser, First Aid, CPR, and AED; and
Complete all other training as required by the college and DCJS.
Must have current firearms certification and maintain such;
Must maintain First Aid and CPR training;
Must be physically able to walk considerable distances;
Must complete appropriate level of NIMS training;
Must have the ability to calmly and professionally handle simple and complex situations;
Must provide quality customer service to students, visitors, and staff;
Must be able to successfully complete all trainings as required by the college; and
Must maintain certification in the use of the Taser.
