The team works to ensure that X builds products and systems which respect users and keep our promises (and regulatory obligations). This team innovates the idea of privacy tooling and services anticipating current and future needs, providing our product engineers the ability to respect privacy while improving the X user experience.What You Will Do : As a Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to design and build tools, infrastructure, and frameworks to support the diverse needs of how we respect customer privacy. We place emphasis on becoming more efficient, reducing risk to the organization, and respectfully meeting our customer obligations.You should be comfortable in uncharted territory as we build privacy infrastructure, tooling, and auditing frameworks to drive user trust. You will enjoy pursuing novel, ambiguous problems, collaborating with a variety of diverse partners, and will bring a strong learning orientation.Qualifications : B.S. and / or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience5 years of professional experienceKnowledgeable about core CS concepts such as : common data structures and algorithms.Have proficiency with at least one of the following languages : Scala, Java, and / or any JVM based language.Have development experience with a solid foundation in backend and distributed systems.Nice to have : Prior experience in building enterprise tools / internal applicationsPrior experience working for a consumer Internet companySQL knowledge with working on databases such as MySQL, Vertica and PostgreSQL.Experience with working on distributed systems like Hadoop and cloud technologies like GCP and AWS.Experience working with teams distributed across geographies and functions.Experience with on-call responsibilities.SummaryLocation : Palo Alto, CA; New York City, NY; San Jose, CAType : Full time
