Job Description:
The Azure Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role requires expertise in working with Docker, storage pools, and the rapid deployment and downsizing of resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Azure virtual networks, storage accounts, enterprise applications, Data Factory, user management, Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC), and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) as it relates to Microsoft Azure and NIST 800-171r2 compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage accounts, and enterprise applications.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Docker containers within the Azure environment.
- Create and manage storage pools to optimize data storage and access.
- Implement rapid deployment and downsizing of resources to ensure cost efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor system performance and ensure reliability and availability of Azure services.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure and services.
- Collaborate with IT team members to design and implement new solutions.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with CMMC and NIST 800-171r2 requirements and other industry standards.
- Manage user accounts and permissions, ensuring proper Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) are in place.
- Utilize Azure Data Factory for data integration and transformation tasks.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
- Plan and coordinate projects across multiple departments to meet organizational needs.
- Utilize PowerShell, scripting, Azure CLI, and Azure Resource Manager for automation and management tasks.
- Manage and configure Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) for identity and access management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, with a focus on Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Azure virtual networks, storage accounts, enterprise applications, and Data Factory.
- Experience with Docker containerization and management.
- Proficiency in creating and managing storage pools.
- Expertise in rapid deployment and downsizing of resources within Azure.
- Strong understanding of CMMC and NIST 800-171r2 requirements and how they relate to Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with user management and Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC).
- Proficiency in PowerShell, scripting, Azure CLI, and Azure Resource Manager.
- Experience with Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) for identity and access management.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (AZ-104) and CompTIA Security , are a plus.
