Description
Function/Duties:
Design and maintain electrical systems from 120V – 23kV. Work with vendors to provide very high-quality power to the site.
Responsibilities:
- Testing, maintaining and operation of low to medium voltage systems ranging from the following:
- 480/277V electrical systems
- 2400V electrical systems
- 12.47 kV electrical systems
- 23kV/12.47kV 10MVA transformers
- Generating electrical schematics, bills of materials, and cost analysis
- Specifying electrical hardware
- Creating new design solutions that meet electrical code
- Participating in process improvement/cost reduction teams
- Working with varied groups in investigation and integration of new technologies to aid with the performance of electrical and control systems
- May include supervision of maintenance employees.
Current Skills/Competencies:
- Knowledge of electrical systems ranging from 120/208V to 23kV systems
- Knowledge of Arc fault system analysis of electrical systems.
- Knowledge and experience on the design, programming of VFDs
- Familiarity with regulations and electrical codes.
- Knowledge of basic control diagrams
- Knowledge of control devices and instrumentation:
- Sensors
- Transducers
- Field Wiring
- Knowledge and experience on the design, programming of PLCs
- Knowledge of Human Machine Interface design Techniques (SCADA Systems)
- Inductive Automation Ignition program preferred
- Ability to work with others on a team to accomplish goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Maintain detailed and accurate records and prepare clear and concise written reports.
- Ability to apply engineering principles and techniques to the solution of electrical equipment, buildings and infrastructure.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Skills Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related and/or technical field. Experience with MS Office. Professional registration: EIT and/or PE preferred.
