We are seeking an experienced Airborne Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.  As an Airborne Manufacturing Engineer at ITI, you will be leading the manufacture of airborne recorders, data transfer receptacles and cartridges that support a multitude of aircraft including the F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, IDF, T-50, Mirage, F-2 and F-4.  You will be part of a nimble and innovative team finding creative design solutions to customer problems in the airborne product space. You will provide the subject matter expertise for airborne manufacturing including an in-depth knowledge of processes, standards, and best-practices. You will be an integral part of our ITI team working closely with airborne products design team, ITI manufacturing organization, and ITI quality organization.

Responsibilities

Design and implement manufacturing processes for airborne data transfer and recording systems.

Develop and document assembly instructions, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.

Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and quality.

Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards such as AS9100, AS9145 and DO-178 / DO-254.

Lead initiatives to optimize production workflows, reduce waste, and enhance product quality using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Analyze and improve assembly techniques, material handling, and tooling to reduce cycle times and costs.

Collaborate with quality teams to establish inspection processes and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and customer specifications.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances.

Work closely with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and testability of new products. Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & Design for Testability (DFT).

Liaise with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate materials and components for manufacturing.

Maintain detailed records of manufacturing processes, testing procedures, and equipment maintenance.

Prepare and present reports on production metrics and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field is required.

Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace or avionics industry.

Experience with avionic systems and familiarity with related standards (e.g., ARP4761, MIL-STD-810) is required.

Familiarity with FAA / EASA certification requirements for avionics manufacturing is preferred.

Familiarity with DFMEA and PFMEA.

Experience with ERP / MRP systems and data analysis tools.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks) and manufacturing tools (e.g., CNC, SMT).

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies is required. Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is preferred.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

This position will be located at a facility that requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen or green card holder.
