Are you a seasoned security professional ready to lead and oversee a dynamic security program? We are seeking a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) to join our team in Ann Arbor, MI. This role involves supporting multiple programs and customers, ensuring the security of classified contracts, and safeguarding national security information. You’ll work in a collaborative environment, advising senior management, developing security policies, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee classified contracts in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and other government directives.
Develop, implement, and monitor company security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information and equipment.
Coordinate building and office access control, personnel security, and visitor control systems.
Maintain personnel security clearance records using DISS and NBIS .
Serve as the primary liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
Advise senior management on federal security regulations, procedures, and best practices.
Process security access requests and assist personnel with background investigations via e-QIP .
Collaborate with recruiting teams to validate or initiate security clearances for potential and new hires.
Conduct security education and awareness programs, including indoctrinations, refreshers, and specialized briefings.
Oversee information systems security certification and accreditation efforts.
Ensure contract and subcontract security compliance by working closely with Contracts and Operations teams.
Prepare and maintain facility clearance paperwork, conduct self-inspections, and respond to DCSA assessments.
Investigate security violations, implement corrective actions, and report findings.
Collaborate with Information System Security personnel to uphold security documentation and standards.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret Clearance or higher, with an investigation or CE date within the last 5 years.
Eligibility for Special Access Programs, including SCI.
Thorough understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
Proficiency with DISS , NBIS , e-QIP , and preparing DD Form 254s.
Experience managing personnel security processes, including clearances, reinvestigations, upgrades, and downgrades.
Certified Facility Security Officer (FSO) training and expertise in NISPOM compliance.
3-5 years of experience managing security programs for organizations with over 20 cleared personnel.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with operations security (OPSEC) and information assurance.
Strong understanding of document marking and classification guidance (SCG).
Ability to develop and manage comprehensive security audit schedules.
Familiarity with hybrid tokens, secure disposal processes, and maintaining compliance with data protection policies.
