Power BI Specialist
Location : Fully Remote (Client Based in Huntsville, AL)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote, part-time role requiring 30 hours per week for an anticipated duration of 3 to 6 months . While the client is based in Huntsville, AL, you are not required to reside in the area. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in Power BI and Microsoft tools to develop, optimize, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that drive decision-making and enhance program performance. This opportunity allows you to work closely with stakeholders and program managers, providing actionable insights and ensuring data integrity. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support program objectives and reporting requirements.
Integrate Power BI with Microsoft Project and other Microsoft tools to optimize data flow and reporting processes.
Use XML, SOAP, REST API, and ODATA to facilitate seamless data integration and management across systems.
Collaborate with program managers and key stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide actionable insights.
Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reports.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to Power BI and its integration with other Microsoft applications.
Provide guidance, training, and support to team members on Power BI best practices and usage.
Stay informed of the latest Power BI features , updates, and industry trends to improve reporting and data visualization capabilities.
Qualifications
Security Clearance :
Must hold an active Secret security clearance .
Experience :
Proven experience in developing Power BI dashboards and reports .
Technical Expertise :
Proficiency in integrating Power BI with Microsoft Project and other Microsoft tools.
Strong understanding of data modeling , data transformation , and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) .
Experience with XML, SOAP, REST API, and ODATA for data integration.
Familiarity with SQL and other database management tools is a plus.

Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving : Strong attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
Desired Qualifications
Experience working on Army or Department of Defense (DoD) programs .
Familiarity with additional Microsoft tools such as Excel, SharePoint, and Teams .
Knowledge of military systems, processes, and protocols .
Education Requirements
3 years of experience with a BA / BS degree , OR
An Associate’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience , OR
9 years of relevant experience .
