We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Quality Control Inspector II to join our team in a fast-paced, aviation / aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is vital in ensuring all products meet stringent quality and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of IPC and WHMA acceptance criteria, GD&T principles, and ISO 9001 & AS9100 / 9102 quality management systems. You will conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections, and collaborate with various departments to maintain the highest level of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform Inspections
Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections of parts, subassemblies, and assemblies based on engineering drawings, customer specifications, and related documents.
Utilize precision measurement equipment (e.g., rulers, calipers, gauges, FARO-ARM, micrometers) to ensure all products meet established standards and requirements.
Quality Assurance & Documentation
Record inspection data in the Quality Assurance database and maintain detailed inspection logs.
Create, file, and manage inspection records and documentation, including engineering drawings and work instructions.
Compliance & Standards
Evaluate products against GD&T principles and practices, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 & AS9100 / 9102 requirements.
Identify and document non-conforming materials, following established procedures and work instructions for proper control and disposition.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure smooth workflow and consistent adherence to quality standards.
Communicate quality-related issues to buyers, suppliers, and customers as necessary.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Basic inspection knowledge and proficiency with standard inspection tools (rulers, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Familiarity with aviation / aerospace industry standards and MIL-Standards for incoming product inspection.
Understanding of GD&T principles and practices.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 & AS9100 / 9102 quality management systems and first article inspection procedures.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience with lean manufacturing practices, metrics, and reporting.
Experience in an aviation / aerospace environment, working with IPC and WHMA acceptance criteria.
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
