Key Responsibilities
Shipping
Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring items are properly packed, labeled, and documented.
Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, or postal services to schedule pickups or deliveries.
Verify and confirm shipping orders to ensure accuracy in quantities and items.
Receiving
Receive incoming shipments, inspecting contents against purchase orders or packing slips.
Unload delivery trucks, record received items, and process paperwork for inventory.
Organize and distribute received items to the correct departments or storage locations.
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory records, using computer systems or manual logs.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
Assist in periodic inventory counts and reconciliation tasks.
Quality Control
Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality, damages, or defects.
Report any shipment or product issues promptly to the appropriate teams.
Documentation & Record-Keeping
Generate shipping and receiving documentation, including packing lists and labels.
Keep thorough, organized records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Safety & Compliance
Follow safety protocols while handling shipments or operating equipment.
Adhere to established company policies regarding shipping, receiving, and storage procedures.
Equipment Operation
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move, load, or unload shipments as required.
Communication
Collaborate with different departments, suppliers, and carriers to coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
Keep supervisors and team members updated on inventory status and any issues.
Problem-Solving
Identify and address discrepancies in shipments or inventory counts.
Troubleshoot logistical challenges to maintain seamless operations.
Organization
Maintain a clean and organized work area for efficient workflow and easy inventory access.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not strictly required with relevant experience).
Basic proficiency with Windows Office and data entry / database systems.
Familiarity with general warehouse safety procedures.
Ability to operate a forklift (certification is a plus).
Desired Qualifications
Experience using ERP systems.
Prior shipping / receiving or warehouse experience in a similar role.
