Key Responsibilities
RF Design & Development
Lead the design and development of RF components and systems, including antennas, amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, and filters.
Conduct RF simulation and modeling to predict performance and optimize designs.
Update and troubleshoot existing designs, addressing obsolescence and performance issues.
Develop comprehensive specifications and documentation.
Ensure designs comply with EMC / EMI and environmental standards.
Testing & Validation
Create and implement test plans for RF systems, ensuring they meet performance and reliability criteria.
Perform RF testing and troubleshooting using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
Utilize best practices in RF test automation.
Analyze test data and refine designs as necessary to meet stringent performance benchmarks.
Collaboration & Support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and mechanical engineers, for seamless integration of RF systems.
Offer technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Support manufacturing teams to facilitate smooth product transitions from design to production.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Stay current on the latest advancements in RF technology and integrate new approaches into design methodologies.
Participate in design reviews, providing expert technical insights and recommendations.
Basic Qualifications
Proven experience in the design of SDR (Software Defined Radios).
Proficiency with Altium Designer or Microwave Office.
Skilled in using RF testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
Demonstrated success leading RF projects from concept to production.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
Detail-oriented focus on quality and reliability.
Experience with RF simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice, ADS, CST).
Must be a U.S. person (citizen or permanent resident).
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
7 years of hands-on experience in RF design and engineering (preferably in radio test or avionics).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an RF focus.
