Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to manage both product and commercial aspects of launching new payments functionality globally. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on payments product development and launch within the U.S. and globally and drafting and negotiating strategic agreements with banks, payment processors, payment networks and other payments ecosystem participants.
This role will require significant cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, strategy, public policy, communications, operations, compliance, trust and safety, customer service, information security, finance, and marketing teams, as well as privacy and other legal subject-matter experts, as you help shape the future of payments products to be made available to billions of users worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Become a deep subject-matter expert in the products you cover, building close connections with product and engineering teams through effective communication and collaboration
- Serve as the first point of contact for your product team's legal questions, and for the broader legal team's questions about your product
- Review new and changed products, features, platforms and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions
- Provide and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues applicable to the product you are supporting
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements in support of the features, functionality and distribution of your product
- Coordinate with public policy, communications, product, engineering, marketing, trust and safety and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development and product development and launches

This role is full-time, hybrid based at X's offices in New York, NY.
