Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Metrology Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of measurement instruments and systems used in our manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong understanding of various measurement techniques and the ability to work with advanced measuring equipment. The Metrology Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining quality standards and supporting engineering teams through precise measurements and calibrations.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Calibration:
- Perform electrical and physical dimensional functional inspections and calibrations based on sample requests, validation protocols, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements.
- Conduct regular inspection and maintenance of gauges, fixtures, optical comparators, and electric metrology equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Support the development and implementation of new and enhanced measurement methods to improve quality and efficiency.
Measurement & Validation:
- Execute first-piece inspections, start-up measurements, and validation of electronic and physical dimensional equipment submitted by customers.
- Conduct Gage R&R studies, correlation studies, and shrinkage studies for both new and existing equipment to ensure precision and consistency
Training & Support:
- Provide hands-on training and support to our technicians in the use of automated and manual measurement techniques, measuring machines, gauges, and fixtures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality objectives and ensure seamless communication between departments.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance:
- Maintain and support company policies, including ISO standards, health and safety requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively contribute to the development and execution of quality operating system responsibilities to enhance product quality and minimize costs.
