Electronics Startup Technician

Department : Automation

Reports to : Automation Team Manager

Location : Dallas, Texas

Salary : Up to $85,000

Summary

As an Electronics Startup Technician , you'll contribute to commissioning, integration, and controls support for client systems. This role involves significant on-site presence, with a natural progression into an Automation Engineer position based on aptitude and company needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure instrumentation and modify PLC / remote panels as needed.
  • Verify and troubleshoot PLC logic, SCADA systems, and client integration.
  • Coordinate with on-site contractors for effective installations and wiring.
  • Document installation changes and assist Automation Engineers with testing and commissioning.
  • Propose solutions to electrical or automation challenges during commissioning.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical school diploma in PLC or electronics with 1 years hands on manual experience in manufacturing, production, or design.
  • Basic understanding and experience Rockwell ControlLogix 5000 , Siemens S7-400 / TIA Portal , and SCADA systems (Wonderware, WinCC, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation, PID control technologies, and wiring schematics.
  • Ability to interpret process & instrumentation diagrams, and mechanical drawings.

    • Additional Information

  • Travel : Up to 80% for client and supplier site visits.
  • Physical requirements : Ability to lift / move up to 40 pounds and adapt to moderate noise environments.
