What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineering Manager position at X4 Engineering?
We're currently working with a well-known EPC client who are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee substation protection and control relaying projects, while leading a team of engineers, designers, and technicians to deliver exceptional service to their clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Oversight: Provide professional leadership and oversight of Electrical Project Engineers, Project Managers, Designers, and Technicians. Mentor and support your team through career development reviews and by identifying growth and learning opportunities.
- Client Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring that projects meet client expectations and timelines while fostering continued business development.
- Resource & Project Planning: Manage office resource billable levels, forecast resource needs, and monitor project backlogs to ensure effective staffing levels and planning for additional resources or new hires.
- Collaboration: Facilitate effective collaboration between internal and external team members across different offices and disciplines, resolving design conflicts and ensuring project continuity.
- Quality Control: Conduct Quality Control (QC) reviews for substation protection and control relaying design, relaying settings, and the PE seal for construction design packages and setting reports.
- Conflict Resolution: Actively resolve conflicts with both team members and clients, ensuring smooth communication and project execution.
Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering is required. An MBA, PMP certification, or a Master’s degree in Engineering Management is preferred.
- Professional Licensing: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 10 years of experience in substation and relaying design and implementation.
- 5 years of experience in the engineering consulting business.
- 5 years of experience in managing people and leading teams.
