Job Opportunity: Estimator (Washington, DC)
We are partnering with a top-tier general contractor in Washington, DC, seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for vertical construction projects, with a focus on federal and higher education sectors.
- Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to collect necessary data and refine estimates.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to develop detailed cost breakdowns.
- Participate in project reviews and assist in value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure alignment with budget projections.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience as an Estimator in vertical building construction.
- Proficiency in estimating software (ProEst, Bluebeam, etc.) and MS Excel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines.
Desired Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with clients, project managers, and subcontractors.
- Experience with estimating federal and/or higher education projects.
- High attention to detail with a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical skills to assess project risks and opportunities.
