PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on position and will oversee the production floor and coordinate with Material Handling and Quality Departments. This position will ensure the team is continuously improving on, as well as meeting our key performance indicators (KPI’s). This position is responsible for sustaining, implementing and contributing to the quality standards for operational systems, incoming material and finished products. This is accomplished through: monitoring, training, controlling documentation and standard operating procedures. The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Production Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for all aspects of the production floor to include prepping, assembly crimping/soldering and finishing
• Adhere to safe work practices while ensuring we meet our customers’ expectations of on-time delivery and the highest quality standards.
• Organize workflow and ensure employees understand their duties and tasks. Ensure projects are resourced and monitor progress through successful completion.
• Provide leadership in team building, lean manufacturing methods, 5S, planning, and establishing clear measures that keep everyone focused on operational metrics.
• Trains production employees in production processes, determining and assessing level of skill, to accommodate the fluctuation in production demands
• Assign duties to employees, checking their activities at regular intervals to ensure quality work is performed.
• Assist in assigning priorities to the production teams and monitoring the completion and quality of shipping and projects.
• Communicate discrepancies in products, orders, or performance issues to leads and other departments and work to resolve the issue for efficient and timely performance.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Drive first time quality and build products to company/customer specifications.
• Monitor employee productivity while providing constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with Production Manager to develop and implement controls and improvements.
• Maintain compliance to current regulatory standards and customer specific requirements as applicable

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing direction, coordination, and evaluation of individuals within their team and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with XACT policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Production Supervisor is the driving force for goal achievement and as such must be able to focus their team to do the same.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of production management experience with supervisory responsibility in industrial or electrical manufacturing market.
• Experience with production of electrical wire harnesses, custom cable assemblies, and control cabinets preferred.

· Good understanding of and experience with managing production processes and utilizing ERP systems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with the English language, written and spoken.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

MATHEMATICAL SKILL: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and have the ability to adjust and focus.
