Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Assistant Front Desk Manager to join our team at Yellowstone National Park. In this role, you will lead and train front office staff, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and maintain operational excellence in accordance with Xanterra's standards and policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing guest satisfaction and financial goals.
The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: April - October
Pay: $1,600-$1,852 biweekly
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (will include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Perform all duties toward the goal of maximizing guest service while meeting or exceeding financial goals.
- Resolve guest problems skillfully with a willingness and desire to understand a guest's viewpoint and to take necessary steps so that the guest is satisfied when they leave.
- Train staff to resolve guest relation problems skillfully with a willingness and desire to understand a guest’s viewpoint and to take necessary steps so that the guest is satisfied when they leave.
- Help in the development of Front Office personnel throughout the season.
- Ensure Front Office personnel are offering the Yellowstone Forever donation, environmental program and open accounts to guests during the check-in process.
- Provide constructive feedback to staff and prepare employee HIG’s and documentation as needed.
- Regulate shift coverage for optimum effectiveness by scheduling staff according to business levels and labor standards.
- Approve Kronos daily and assist in completing payroll reports on a daily/weekly basis for all Front Office personnel.
- Ensure that the Front Office staff complies with safety guidelines.
- Communicate regularly and constructively with staff both verbally and through shift logs.
- Communicate regularly, constructively, and openly with the Lodging Resource Team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous front desk or equivalent hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Human relation skills. Must be a people-person who thrives on public contact.
- Strong communication skills, ability to listen and evaluate.
- Ability to deal with guests when they are angry or upset.
- Ability to make prompt, realistic, and fair decisions.
- Strong management skill, including ability to supervise employees.
- Ability to train and fine tune skills of the Front Office employees.
- Ability to work quickly and thoroughly when under pressure.
- Knowledge of basic computer programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Knowledge of Lodging Management Systems computer programs.
Physical Requirements include:
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Standing for up to eight hours per shift.
- Requires bending, stretching and reaching throughout a shift up to 8 hours.
- Working with required chemicals.
