Heavy Equipment Operator
- Proficiently operating loaders, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, dump trucks, snow blowers, and other equipment common to the trade, including shovels, rakes, tampers, etc.
- Proficiently operating chainsaws, hand saws, wedges, block & tackle, and other tree falling equipment
- Responsible for placing concrete and asphalt patching park-wide
- Responsible for replacement and staining of bumper logs park-wide
- Responsible for all domestic utility (water, sewer, electrical) repairs park-wide
- Responsible for correct placement of snow poles for future snow removal
- Responsible for working safe and complying with all current related codes and regulations
- This position requires a Class A CDL, with air brake endorsement
- Travel throughout Yellowstone's various locations to deliver any materials needed by the various departments
- Haul recyclable materials as needed
- Assist with filling orders, loading, and unloading trucks
- Work in the Gardiner Warehouse as needed
- Keep trucks serviced and in good working order
- Stay updated and comply with all DOT regulations
- Fill out required paperwork properly
- Must be at least 19 or 21 years of age (depending on position) to operate a company vehicle
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Must possess or obtain a current DOT physical qualification
- General knowledge of the park and the locations of concession buildings
- Ability to drive in changing weather conditions on narrow mountain roads
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting, reaching outward and above the shoulder for up to 6 hours per shift.
- Repetitive motion of arms, wrist, and hands for up to 7 hours per shift.
- Requires occasional climbing, crawling, and squatting/kneeling up to 3 hours per shift.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to push or pull wheeled items weighing up to 400 pounds.
- Must be able to wear hearing protection up to 4 hours per shift.
- Must be able to work in an environment of 30º to 100 º up to 7 hours a day.
- Must be able to drive for up to 3 hours at a time.
