Are you enthusiastic about hospitality, people, and beautiful places? By working at Yellowstone National Park, you will get all three! As a Historic Preservation Carpenter, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance functions that keep the park running smoothly.

Job Summary:

The Historic Preservation Carpenters are responsible responsible for delivering quality craftsmanship through assigned work orders and tasks. The position requires maintaining and securing equipment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations, and possessing competent knowledge of carpentry tools and their safe operation. The ideal candidate should have several years of general carpentry experience or equivalent expertise in the field.

The Details:

Position Type: Seasonal

Season Dates: March/April 2025 - October/November 2025

Pay: $21.25- $23.45/hour

Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for quality craftsmanship work through assigned work orders and Tasks.
• Assists with the care, maintenance and security of all assigned equipment and tools.
• Responsible for working safe and complying with all current related codes and regulations.
• Responsible for adhering to Xanterra’s Ecologix program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3 years general carpentry experience or equivalent.
• Competent knowledge about the operation and safe use of all carpentry tools and equipment common to the trade.
• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a current, valid, driver’s license with a good driving record.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Will require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations.
• Must attend and complete the Class III Asbestos abatement and removal training and certification program within 90 days.
• Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Must possess physical stamina to withstand heavy labor related to work in an outside environment.
• Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time as required.
• Must be able to read, understand, interpret and comply with all Xanterra’s company policies and procedures.
