Job Summary:
The Park-Wide Internal Auditor is accountable for overall cash controls, supervision of the Internal Audit function, and continuous process improvement of Xanterra Parks & Resorts in Yellowstone.
The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: To be discussed during the interview
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Responsible for continuous process improvement and streamlining of operations and accounting processes, especially as it relates to maximizing efficiency/effectiveness within the accounting department
- Review, establish and evaluate accounting, financial, and operational policies and procedures. Responsible for developing, revising, and/or editing training manuals
- Develop, plan and implement comprehensive internal audit programs and perform requested internal audits for the Yellowstone properties
- Monitor cash controls in the operating units and accounting departments at the Yellowstone properties
- Evaluate and make suggestions for improvements on the security of all assets including fixed assets
- Ensure the performance of surprise house bank audits, shift audits, payroll audits, and compliance audits
- Remain actively involved in the physical inventory process to include inventory observations, test counts and other duties as assigned
- Review findings and recommend actions to Operations and Accounting Management
- Audit/verify that safe combination changes are made when needed at the Yellowstone properties, ATMs are working, all cash keys are secured, and all safes/security boxes are in working order
- Along with the Risk department, ensure security of all accounting records, storage areas, cash rooms, and offices
- Develop and present to the Yellowstone Controller/Assistant Controller any matters requiring their approval or decision
- Participates in the month-end closing process as directed
- Attend required training courses
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and ergonomic policies
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years hospitality experience, preferably in hospitality accounting management with an emphasis in auditing, documentation, and process evaluation
- Strong analytical skills
- Advanced computer skills in Excel and Word
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- High level of attention to detail and strong emphasis on accuracy
- Confidential handling of work issues as well as all areas of the General Accounting Office
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while on duty and in dealing with employees
Physical Requirements include:
- The majority of the work is time spent sitting at a desk. Walking, standing and bending are required when documentation is to be put into or retrieved from filing cabinets. Lifting and transporting up to 25 pounds is required for record storage.
