Job Summary:
The Restaurant/Lounge Server delivers exceptional dining experiences by efficiently managing food and beverage orders, providing attentive service, and maximizing guest satisfaction through menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques.
The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: May through September or October 2025 (exact dates vary by location)
Pay: $10.65/hr tips
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Arrive ready and prepared for work. Punch-in accurately according to the 7 Shifts schedule and into the Kronos system on the time clock assigned.
- Check, enhance, and complete all side-work, stocking, or section preparation needed to begin service.
- Attend the pre-service circle meeting and record specials, shortages, and incidental information.
- Greet and interact with every member of your shift service team.
- Accurately record and enter all food and beverage items in to the POS system; pick up, garnish, and serve food and beverages promptly to guests; collect and process forms of payment accurately and efficiently; ensuring guest satisfaction throughout.
- Maximize sales and guest needs by using menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques, and ‘storytelling’ entertainment.
- Provide, with Professional Demeanor, performance coaching and technical assistance to all other members of the service staff.
- Supervise small numbers of service peers during opening and closing duties as assigned by dining room management. Complete all side-work and pre-shift stocking for the following meal-period.
- Follow Company, NPS and departmental environmental practices, safety practices, and policies and procedures.
- Dining Room Servers must also assist in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary in line with the overall success of the outlet, location, and company.
Qualifications
- Must have a working knowledge of all menus: Specials, features, food, wine, beer, and cocktail service, and of general guest information.
- Expected to embody and practice all of the Xanterra Core Values and the Glacier National Park F&B Ten Commandments.
- Ability to work within and consistently build the service team and will be asked to help other team members as necessary.
- Certification in the TIPS alcohol awareness program is required; workshops will be provided if not currently certified.
Physical Requirements include:
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds. Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Working safely with required chemicals.
