POSITION OVERVIEW:
Xator Corporation is currently seeking a Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (CUAS) Field Service Watch-stander (FSW) to stand watch and operational support for the client’s CUAS program. The CUAS FSW will work OCONUS as part of a small team with the primary focus of performing maintenance on deployed systems and standing watch.
The candidate will provide watch-standing support and hands-on technical support as required. This position requires some technical skills, personal resilience and flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team in a variety of physical environments.
The government is requiring significant medical screening/examinations/testing for this position. Candidates will receive a contingent offer based on successful completion of government medical requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Monitor multiple CUAS systems ensuring real time air space awareness in the assigned area of responsibility and report required UAS events in accordance with local SOP.
- Conduct operational support, monitoring, and maintenance of CUAS in a variety of locations / environmental conditions to support client CUAS operational requirements.
- Perform technical inspections, system checks, fault diagnosis, identify the cause of failures, replace Least Replaceable Unit (LRU), test and restore CUAS to full functionality.
- Conduct basic programming of CUAS (install/upgrade load sets, firmware, software upgrades, etc.).
Primary Responsibilities Include (But Are Not Limited To):
- Monitor multiple CUAS ensuring real time air space awareness in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Report UAS events in accordance with local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Prepares daily and event driven reports and logs to include 6-line CUAS report, storyboard, daily watch logs; distributes as directed by SOP.
- Perform scheduled periodic maintenance.
- Be prepared to conduct emergency maintenance/troubleshooting/repair.
- Maintains a daily watch log and passes it to the oncoming FSW, Government officials at Post, and the CUAS Section leads daily.
- Coordinates and de-conflicts known/approved CUAS operations with Senior Watch Officer (SWO).
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical experience working as a watch-stander installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, repairing, and operating the equipment.
- Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) transmission, detection, and deterrence equipment and techniques desired.
- Experience with UAS operation & capabilities; and command, control, and guidance systems desired.
- Experience with ground-based Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) / Counter Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (CREW) systems desired.
- Candidate must hold a valid U.S. passport or have the ability to obtain a U.S. passport.
- Candidate must be able to obtain a class 1 DOS medical clearance
- SECRET level Security Clearance required.
Education:
- An Associate’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience is required.
Experience:
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience with RF and/or cellular communications systems and watch standing.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
- Ability to work alone or within a group.
- Basic mechanical understanding; experience working with tools.
- Basic understanding of RF theory; experience with communications, GPS, and electronic countermeasures systems is highly desired.
- The position requires daily interface with customers at numerous levels. Candidate must possess and use a high degree of tact and interpersonal communication skills in daily interactions with team members, clients, vendors, and end-users.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift objects 50-80 pounds such as boxes and other equipment.
- Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Manual dexterity required for frequent reaching, climbing, and lifting of moderate objects, operation of power and manual tools/equipment, and operating office equipment
Work Conditions:
- Typical assignments are performed in climate controlled and external environments with a variety of weather conditions.
Travel:
- This position will be based OCONUS. Candidates should be willing to travel / TDY away from their home location for up to 75% of a typical work year.
