Xavier University’s Office of Care and Support Services under the Division of Student Affairs is seeking applications for two open positions for the Assistant Director of Care and Support Services to partner with students as they transition to and through college. Using a holistic, individualized approach grounded in our Jesuit value of Cura Personalis, individuals in this role utilizes data, analytics and referrals to outreach and connect to students. Upon connection, developmental conversations occur that empower students to be successful inside an outside of the classroom. The Assistant Director Is Aligned With Important University And Student Affairs Student Success Goals And Proactively And Strategically Outreaches To All Students With The Following Intent
- Provide wraparound care for students. Specifically, monitor the progress and performance of students on caseload and deploy interventions based on student development theory. Assist students with setting goals, creating customized action plans and provide resources to students on an individual basis to appropriate academic, career, health, social, financial and spiritual resources on campus.
- Educate and support students to navigate the University and understand available resources both on and off campus, and understand important policies, procedures, and deadlines.
- Work in collaboration with colleagues from Academic Affairs, Strategic Enrollment Management and Ignatian Belonging to ensure alignment with student success initiatives exists across divisions.
- Coordinate outreach and strategically and regularly communicate with students on caseloads.
- Collaborate with on and off campus partners to formulate intervention plans and expedite resolution of problems for student success; facilitate and consult on meetings with students, faculty, staff and family members or guardians on topics including but not limited to concerning behavior, individual student support plans and resources, University/community procedures, processes and follow-up. Assist in process of well-checks as needed.
- Assist with maintenance of student success data including reasons for case load management, student departures, information regarding persistence, leave of absence request and return for students.
- Provide leadership to the Xavier community on student issues by remaining current on best practices, emerging research and strategies supportive of reducing threat and support to students in crisis or distress.
- Provide training and workshops on supporting student success and students in distress to faculty and staff through informal channels.
- Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Education, Administration or related field earned or be near completion. Degree must be conferred within 26 months of hire.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
