Xavier University’s St. Peter Faber Academy is seeking applications for experienced and self-motivated teachers who embody and articulate the mission and vision of the school. This position will be responsible for preparing interdisciplinary lesson plans, evaluating students’ progress, planning educational activities, and educating students at all levels. The teacher will work with Xavier University faculty as well as undergraduate and graduate students in the Educator Preparation Programs.

Job Responsibilities includes but not limited to :
Establishes a developmentally and culturally appropriate environment that is conducive to learning.
- Evaluates and documents students’ progress. Prepares progress reports.
- Prepares curriculum and provides lessons at the appropriate time to large and small group, and individual instruction to students.
- Plans and implements educational activities, events, and field studies that support and enhance curriculum.
- Provides for the learning needs of individual children and completes teacher input forms for IEP, 504, and / or Evaluation Team Reports (ETR).
- Attends and prepares for parent-teacher conference.
- Communicates consistently with parents, families and Xavier’s stakeholders.
- Participates in community-building events that promote school-wide engagement.
- Attends and participates in school functions, including monthly staff meetings, parent and family workshops.
- Collaborate with School of Education faculty and students.
- Upholds and models the Catholic identity of the school. Seeks out opportunities to integrate faith teaching into the class. Works toward the creation of a Catholic community within the classroom and entire school community. Maintains an awareness of the role as a Catholic school teacher and its impact on the community. Strives to achieve the goals of Catholic education and shows knowledge of the Catholic philosophy of education. Promotes Catholic values and provides opportunities for students to be prepared for live in today’s Church and society.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree required in Education or subjects taught
