Job Summary
The Inventory Handler Lead is responsible for acting as a coach and leader to material handlers, as well as fulfilling their own assigned duties. The Lead also has various responsibilities including, but not limited to, inventory control, inventory control reporting, general warehouse functions, material handling operations (e.g., forklift operation), ensuring that orders are filled accurately and in a timely manner, organization of inventory and warehouse space to ensure that items are easy to find and access, and that staff members are supervised and trained.
Responsibilities
- Leads physical inventories and cycle counts of both inbound and outbound products to ensure inventory accuracy physically and systematically.
- Directing material handlers in the completion of work. Supports training and adherence to all procedures and policies including LEAN, and Six Sigma processes.
- Manage and coordinate the daily operations, order fulfillment, and returns processing
- Ensures operational issues are communicated and met as required.
- Participates in root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies, including research and resolution. Uses various problem-solving tools such as Continuous Improvement and LEAN Six Sigma tools/methodology to determine root cause and resolution.
- Manage warehouse staff and ensure their tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Monitor warehouse equipment and supplies and order new items when needed
- Ensure the warehouse is clean and organized and that safety protocols are followed
- Safely operates powered industrial equipment to move products or materials and stores materials/products in designated areas.
- Reviews and analyzes daily inventory reports.
- Serves as backup to other warehouse roles, as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of prior inventory and/or warehouse/distribution operations experience and 6 months leadership or supervisory experience and/or training in a distribution environment.
- 1-2 years experience working with Warehouse Inventory Management System required.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
- Must be a licensed forklift operator or be able to obtain a forklift operator license.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
