Desktop Support Technician
Location: Rolla, MO (On Site)
Salary: $56,000

The Desktop Support Technician will provide device support for USGS scientists and researchers to advance their vital work.
In this hands-on role, there will be opportunities to help with installing and configuring desktops and laptops, setting up software and printers, and troubleshooting basic technical issues (Tier 1 and 2 support). The Desktop Support Technician will also help track equipment inventory and provide day-to-day user support.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant degree and 2 years of experience in system administration/help desk support, OR 4 years of hands-on experience without a degree
• Proven ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows desktops, software, and peripherals (Tiers 1 and 2 support)
• Established experience staging, deploying, and decommissioning desktops/laptops, including maintaining accurate inventory records
• Demonstrated proficiency in supporting end users with system access, printer setup, and software usage, with strong documentation habits
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
