What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Peer Specialist position at XChange Recovery?
Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support to individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges. Experience working with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence
- Utilize personal lived experience to inspire hope and promote recovery
- Assist individuals in setting and achieving their recovery goals
- Collaborate with treatment teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Conduct individual and group sessions to provide counseling and support
- Facilitate workshops and educational sessions on topics related to mental health and recovery
- Advocate for individuals' rights and access to appropriate services
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all interactions
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Peer Specialist or willingness to obtain certification
- Strong understanding of behavioral health systems and resources
- Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with individuals in recovery
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
