As a Laser Computational Physicist, you will apply your skills to bring inexhaustible, carbon-free, and commercially viable inertial fusion energy through rigorous scientific investigation and innovative engineer. You will work with Xcimer and its scientific partners developing cutting-edge computational modeling tools for the interaction of high intensity laser beams with fusion plasmas. You will be an integral part of our team working on design and optimization of unprecedented, multi-megajoule-scale, inertial fusion targets. We are looking for our scientists to apply their technical expertise, problem solving skills, dedication, passion, and vision to positively impact the future of energy!

Qualifications
- M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) in Physics and Computer Science or related fields.
- Deep experience in laser plasma physics with long pulses required.
- Proficiency with C and high-performance computing required.
- Experience with nonlinear laser plasma interaction an advantage.
- Experience with finite element method an advantage.
- Familiarity with deep UV and excimer laser systems.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- This position involves access to technology that is subject to U.S. export controls and therefore requires being approved for all export control authorizations required by law.
