As a Integration Technician you will apply your skills to build and maintain laser systems, pulsed power machines and their various support systems. We are looking for our technicians to apply their technical expertise, problem solving skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact the future of energy!
\n- Assemble, maintain, and operate laser systems, pulsed power machines, and their subsystems, including mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, structural components, vacuum chambers, pressurized gas systems, and fluid systems.
- Collaborate directly with engineers and other technicians to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
- Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform maintenance on machines, equipment, and work areas following 5S standards and maintenance programs.
- Safely set up and operate in a fast-paced system.
- Manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
- Perform inventory maintenance and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Keep work areas and surfaces clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Support overhead crane inspections at heights up to 60 feet.
- Operate forklifts as required.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, bringing together diverse skills and expertise.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
- Identify, communicate, and help mitigate risks related to cost, schedule, and technical challenges.
- Support the entire Xcimer manufacturing team in a cross-functional capacity.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with complex integrated mechanical, electrical, or optical assemblies (e.g., in mechanical, high-voltage electrical, fusion energy, or space and defense applications).
- Proficient with tools such as hand drills, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, optical measuring instruments, and other hand tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, and test procedures effectively.
- Experience working in research and development (R&D) environments.
- Physical ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift/move up to 50 pounds unassisted for extended periods.
- Familiarity with OSHA 10/30 industrial safety standards.
- Forklift operation experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, complemented by a creative and flexible approach to handling diverse responsibilities.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to earn trust and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee of granted asylum
- Industry certifications, trade school training, or a degree in a related field (A&P license is preferred).
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
