Job Description: Technician/Assembler – Xellar Biosystems
Xellar Biosystems (Xellarbio) is a fast-growing AI Wetlab drug discovery company with huge market potential, currently located in Boston, MA. We are seeking a passionate individual to join our team for our Technician/Assembler position, this individual will be part of the Engineering team and be responsible for the fabricating our microfluidic based consumables. As an Xellarer, you participate in a fast-growing dynamic team at the cutting-edge of translating novel biotechnologies into medicine.
The successful candidate will require working well within a multidisciplinary project team and have the capacity to quickly adapt to company priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble plastic microfluidic devices for research and development studies under instruction from engineering group
- Maintain the fixtures, tools, and supplies to build microfluidic devices
- Perform incoming inspections of raw materials as needed
- Maintain inventory of both raw materials and completed devices
- Preparation of materials required for microfluidic device assemblies
- Packaging of completed devices
- Perform and document device inspection
- Properly document material usage and lot information
- Contribute to the improvement of the microfluidic device assembly process
- Interact effectively with engineering team
- Perform minimal facility maintenance tasks as required
Requirements:
- High school diploma and 1-3 years related industry experience or an associate degree in Life Sciences/Engineering field with 1 year of GMP Manufacturing experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to others
- Ability to understand written protocols and follow said protocols effectively with minimal oversight
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Ability to use drill press, heat press, heat sealer, and any other tools and equipment that may be required to fulfill job duties
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience involving assembly of biomedical plastic devices
- Prior experience working with simple microscopes
- Desire to learn the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment such as laser cutter, 3D printer, CNC mill machine

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
