What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Lab Technician position at XENON Corporation?
We are seeking a Chemical Lab Technician with chemical experience to work onsite in our Wilmington, MA location. This position is responsible for the manual cleaning process we utilize to clean our glass and small parts. This process uses hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid, fluorenol and methanol. As our chemical technician, you will operate and monitor the inline/outline machines, following the manual cleaning and drying process. This process is in close contact with the cleaning chemicals, highly repetitive, and must be performed multiple times per day. You will be responsible for checking the ph. levels of the chemicals to insure their effectiveness. Additionally, you will be fully gowned in protective gear while working on this process.
This position will follow all procedures required to review and maintain quality control and assurance of products and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements. You must be organized, methodical and focused to be successful in this position.
Additional duties in the lamp department may include various assembler functions including prep for lamps, packaging lamps, and driving to pick up parts as needed.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the chemical processing areas and systems including chemical cleaning stations number one and two, the acid neutralization station.
· Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of chem labs.
· Performs cleaning operations as required.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Safety and Compliance:
· Maintains published safety standards and reports violations to the managers.
Additional Duties to Include:
· Prep for lamps.
· Packaging lamps.
· Pick up parts as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience with chemicals in a lab setting highly preferred.
· High school diploma or GED equivalent.
· Strong attention to detail, focus and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Independent, with problem-solving skills.
· Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing at chemical lab stations.
· Sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 20 pounds repeatedly and consistently.
· Exposure to various chemicals and compounds.
· Must wear required protection when working with chemicals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
