They work with public entities and private developers in residential and commercial sectors. Their expertise spans a range of projects, including water drainage, distribution, treatment, containment, land/marine surveying, aerial mapping, recreational/marine facilities, and engineering consulting.
With a growing client base and increased development activity, they are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join their team and ensure project success.
Job Overview:
The Construction Inspector will be responsible for onsite observation of construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering plans and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience working directly with contractors, project managers, and engineers to ensure construction projects meet quality standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review specifications and plans to ensure construction compliance.
- Conduct submittal reviews to verify adherence to project requirements.
- Prepare daily reports documenting site activities, progress, and issues.
- Coordinate and communicate with contractors to address site-related concerns.
- Maintain clear communication with Project Managers and Engineers.
- Navigate active construction job sites to monitor workmanship and quality.
- Work overtime if needed to meet project deadlines and milestones.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience with civil engineering construction standards and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in report preparation and documentation.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments.
Additional Details:
- Location Requirement: Must be local to the Mississippi Gulf Coast (no relocation assistance available).
- Work Environment: Field-based, requiring travel to various project sites.
