Overview
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design of our next generation printheads and supporting equipment. You will use your experience in NX and Teamcenter to design parts made from materials like: etched plates, ceramic actuators, machined metals, injection molded plastics, sheet metal, thermoplastics, and many other electro-mechanical components. You will also participate in a cross-functional team throughout the design and development of these printheads, interfacing with the Process Development, Manufacturing, Reliability, Purchasing, and Marketing groups.

You will also participate in a cross-functional team throughout the design and development of these printheads, interfacing with the Process Development, Manufacturing, Reliability, Purchasing, and Marketing groups.
Job Responsibilities And Essential Functions
- Use GD&T and Seimens NX to create accurate drawings.
- Look for opportunities to improve our use of Teamcenter to manage and control part files.
- Leverage design experience to be a champion for total quality, lean manufacturing, and design for manufacturability
- Researches and develops core technologies to sustain or improve our competitive lead.
- Gather data (empirically or through modeling) to demonstrate design performance.
- Acquires and applies skills necessary to introduce new components with the greatest possible design margins and in the shortest amount of time.
- Can think at a systems-level to improve the assembly, performance, and appearance of the final product.
- Effectively communicates information to co-workers, customers and suppliers required to do their jobs. This communication must be objective and accomplished in a neutral to positive manner.
- Serves as a project team member throughout the New Product Development process, will be responsible for meeting project and product goals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Advanced Degree highly Desirable
- Minimum 5 years of product design / engineering experience, including the use of standard mechanical engineering analysis and software (i.e. FEA, kinematics and tolerance analysis).
- Extensive experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM is a must.
- Design for manufacturability and assembly.
- GD&T experience a definite plus.
- Experience in electro-mechanical system design also a plus.
- Able to analyze components and assemblies for static and fatigue strength to meet design goals.
- Proven problem-solving skills that demonstrate ability to identify, quantify, and resolve problems.
- Ability to handle simultaneous tasks in an environment which can be stressful at times
- Experience with Windows based PC's and standard software applications including Excel and Word
- Candidate should be able to positively communicate with customers (internal and external), to address their needs promptly and to follow through on commitments.
- 8:00 AM to 5:PM ( Mondays to Fridays) Fixed weekends Off!
