XFlow Energy is a start-up dedicated to lowering the cost of renewable energy. We are developing our own products and serving as consultants for the distributed wind and hydokinetic energy industries.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
Experience in hardware testing or experimental research.
In-person position based in Seattle, WA.
Primary Responsibilities :
Design and develop testing apparatus for wind turbine systems (e.g. mechanical drivetrains, instrumentation, data acquisition).
Create manufacturing drawings with geometric tolerancing.
Plan and execute tests on wind turbine systems, synthesizing engineering standards.
Perform additional electromechanical design and testing tasks as needed.
Required Skills :
Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
CAD modeling and 2D manufacturing drawings (including GD&T).
Sensor-based data collection.
Proficient in at least one programming language.
Project planning and execution.
Design of assemblies using basic engineering computations and off-the-shelf components.
Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with engineering standards and standards-based testing processes.
Experience with power electronics
Precision measurements (e.g. oscilloscopes, micrometers).
MATLAB (data collection and analysis).
Solidworks experience.
Writing technical test reports.
Knowledge of control theory and / or practical controls experience.
Force and encoder measurement experience.
Familiarity with National Instruments DAQs.
Fabrication experience : Machining, welding
Familiarity with motion control and industrial VFDs.
