Who are we looking for?
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist provides support and follow up of outstanding insurance claims for all payors throughout the revenue cycle process. This role supports initiatives towards clean claims submissions, denial management and resolution of provider or systemic issues.
Responsibilities:
- Denial management and third-party payor follow up resulting in accurate adjudication of insurance claims
- Analyze and identify payor trends; provides process improvement recommendations to management
- Interfaces with patients and customers to handle inquires, troubleshoot problems, and follows up with calls and/or written communications
- Reviews all processing errors and analyzes issues, identifies root causes and escalates as appropriate
- Exercises good judgment and effective time management to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
What qualifications are needed?
- AA degree preferred; High School diploma required
- Must have 2-4 years medical billing experience
- Thorough understanding of governmental regulations and third-party guidelines regarding documentation and billing compliance
- In-depth knowledge of third-party payor reimbursement policies
- Experience with medical billing software
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Intermediate skills in Excel
