Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Linux Engineer with a proven track record in designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux-based systems and infrastructure. Adept at leading teams, driving technological advancements, and ensuring the stability, performance, and security of mission-critical systems. A strategic thinker with a keen ability to introduce and integrate new technologies while mentoring and guiding team members. Expertise in managing both physical datacenters with owned assets and cloud-based services in Microsoft Azure. Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, provide guidance and mentorship to other Linux Engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on projects and initiatives. Passionate about automation, scalability, and security by design, with a proactive approach to risk mitigation and system hardening including tools like Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and AKS.
What will you do?
System Design & Implementation :
- Work with Development, DevOps, IT and design, install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers, applications, services, and implement resilient, high-performance solutions for enterprise clients using automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes)
- Ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of both on premise and cloud based systems and services.
- Implement and maintain security best practices NIST, HiTrust, and CIS Benchmarks for systems conducting regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Operational Excellence :
Develop and document system architecture drawings, policies, standard operating procedures and best practices to ensure a consistent and secure infrastructure environment. Focus on creating repeatable and or automated processes for managing infrastructure.Infrastructure Maintenance & SupportAdminister, manage and support critical infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, Vmware, Azure, Docker containers, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), ensuring high availability, security, and reliability. Oversee system backups, recovery processes, and disaster recovery planning and testing.Troubleshooting & Incident Response
Provide advanced troubleshooting and incident response support by diagnosing and resolving complex system issues. Work closely with internal teams and customers to mitigate impact and perform root cause analysis to resolve complex technical problems.Collaboration & Communication
Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, provide technical expertise, and ensure alignment between development and operations. Create and maintain technical diagrams, documentation, and knowledge bases.Automation & IaC (Infrastructure as Code) :Implement system automation and or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Ansible, Terraform, GiT / GitHub to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructureContinuous Improvement
Drive improvements in system reliability, scalability, and performance by monitoring system health and proactively implementing changes to prevent failures and reduce downtime. Monitor and analyze system performance, logs, and metrics to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal system performance. Plan for capacity upgrades as needed and implement and fine-tune monitoring and alerting systems to proactively address issues.XiFin Technologies

What education and experience do you need?
A combination of the following education and experience factors will be considered :
At least 7 years of experience in Linux System Engineering role, with experience working with cloud-based services like AWS and Azure technologies managing large-scale, distributed systems.Hands-on experience with Oracle OVA, VmWare, Kubernetes clusters, Docker containers, and infrastructure management tools like Ansible and Terraform or equivalent tools.Hands-on experience with applications tools Splunk, Nagios, Application Dynamics (AppD)Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems, Oralce Enterprise LinuxExperience with Linux automation, orchestration, and configuration management tools such as ansible, puppet, chef, etc.Experience with Linux-based web servers, databases, and applications such as Apache, nginx, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.Experience with Linux security, networking, and systems firewall configurationExperience with Linux monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Splunk, Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, etc.Experience with cloud platforms and services such as Azure and AWS.Knowledge of Load Balancing / AppGatewaysProficient in scripting languages and tools for automation tasksThis position does require to be a part of an on-call rotation to support 24x7x365Travel 10-15% of the time to remote company locations and or datacentersWhat's in it for me?

What does the position pay :
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location.
The expected range for this role is $130,000.00-$155,000.00 annual compensation. Please note this range is an estimate and actual may vary based on qualifications and experience.
