Scientist - Quality Engineering

Duties: Responsible for the engagement with Data product owners, Business partners and delivery leads for detailed planning to ensure Data business requirements are properly captured and tracked through the development life cycle. Analyze and mitigate risk pertaining to Data solution delivery timelines, quality, stability and performance. Develop testing strategies and governance standards for Data solutions rollout for multiple portfolios / workstreams. Implement and manage Data solutions rollout processes through development, test, UAT, Staging and Production Environments. Forecast demand for Data Platform resources and identify opportunities for continuously improving process efficiency across environments. Manage governance and compliance for all the Data workstreams and manage the story lifecycle. As part of UAT planning, perform data load and data refresh f for smooth conduct of UAT and Product Demos. Proactively communicate with development, support, and delivery teams to ensure effective delivery of all components. Participate in efforts to identify root cause of issues and help deliver effective solutions. Work in the “Follow the sun” support model. Grow and maintain data solutions knowledge within the team through comprehensive and detailed documentation of project/ processes. Achieve and maintain highest business customer confidence and net promoter score (NPS). Own the availability, scalability, and efficiency of platforms and applications developed for day-to-day operations. Make recommendations to management on new processes, tools and techniques, or development of new products and services.

Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study, and 5 years of experience at a senior level such as Technical Lead or Lead Engineer involving building, testing, and maintaining scalable applications. Experience specified must include 5 years of experience at a senior level with each of the following: ETL and Big Data Platform including HDInsight, ADLS and Data Bricks; systems integration, and developer support tools including Azure DevOps, CICD, release management, configuration management, Automation and Python; DataOps and AGILE methodologies; performance management (APM) tools and Query Performance analysis; building reports and dashboard using excel and power BI; working with distributed global team; supporting area of Data management; troubleshooting issues and handling different types of user inquiries; Technologies such as Spark, Scala, Python Hadoop, Hive, UNIX Shell Scripting, Ab Initio, Informatica and Denodo; Application development and testing in Cloud using AWS or AZURE; maintaining end to end development of applications including testing; Personal Insurance Domain with specialty on finance applications running under Auto and Property line of business; Data Ingestion using SQOOP and JETHRO; Testing Tool including LoadRunner; and Scheduling Tools including DAG, AUTOMIC,ADF, Autosys and D-Series. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days a week.
