Available Internship Tracks:
🔧 Field Engineer Intern
- Work closely with the Superintendent and field teams to support daily on-site operations
- Assist with quality control, schedule updates, safety walks, and coordination of subcontractors
- Help manage on-site documentation and project logistics
🛠 MEP Intern
- Focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within large-scale construction projects
- Collaborate with MEP coordinators to track systems installation and integration
- Support submittal review, coordination drawings, and system commissioning planning
🧱 Project Engineer Intern
- Partner with the Project Manager to support project administration and controls
- Help manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and budget tracking
- Attend meetings, document progress, and assist with procurement
What You’ll Do (across all tracks):
- Support the bidding and buyout process with trade partners
- Assist in maintaining and organizing project logs and documentation
- Participate in owner/architect/contractor (OAC) and internal coordination meetings
- Help prepare closeout documentation including punch lists, warranties, and as-builts
- Learn project tools like Procore, Bluebeam, Egnyte, and Microsoft Project
- Uphold XL’s safety and quality standards on every task
What We're Looking For:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Passion for the built environment and a desire to learn by doing
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Curious, proactive, and a team player
- Basic knowledge of construction drawings and project workflows
- OSHA 10 Certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain)
