XL Pro Staffing and Consulting is NOW HIRING for an Entry-Level Horizontal Form Fill and Seal (HFFS) Machine Technician!

Compensation: $17.45 Hourly

Schedule: Will be discussed during the interview (varies)

Location: Van Alstyne, TX

Position Overview:

The Entry-Level Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of horizontal form fill and seal (HFFS) machines used in the packaging process. The technician ensures that the machine operates efficiently, safely, and produces high-quality products in line with company specifications.

Entry-Level Maintenance Technician Job Description:

Set up and operate HFFS machines to package products into pouches, bags, or other containers.

Adjust machine settings such as speed, temperature, sealing parameters, and other operational variables according to product specifications.

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet required specifications, including weight, seal integrity, and packaging appearance.

Address packaging process issues, such as incorrect seals, product misplacements, or machine malfunctions.

Perform routine quality checks and document results to maintain consistent quality standards.

Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to ensure smooth machine operation.

Load packaging materials (films, labels) into the machine and ensure proper material feeding to avoid jams.

Maintain inventory levels of packaging materials and communicate shortages or issues to the supervisor.

Complete and maintain accurate production logs, including machine performance, downtime, product quality checks, and incidents.

Provide regular updates to the supervisor regarding production status, machine performance, or other issues.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored and maintained properly.

Entry-Level Maintenance Technician Job Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification is a plus).

Experience: Previous experience operating HFFS or similar packaging machinery preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to set up, operate, and maintain complex machinery.

Must work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Good communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with team members.

Physical capability to lift and move items as required.

Availability for shifts, overtime, or weekend work as needed.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
