Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders or packing slips, and inspect goods for damage or defects.
- Record and track all received inventory using inventory management software or manual systems.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to shipping guidelines and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely shipment of goods.
- Maintain organized and clean warehouse storage areas to facilitate efficient movement of inventory.
- Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and records.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and resolve any issues or delays.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
- Assist in the implementation of process improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy in shipping and receiving operations.
- Provide support to other warehouse functions as needed, including inventory control, order picking, and stocking.
Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably in shipping and receiving roles.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS).
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (certification preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Warehouse and Forklift Experience
- Technical tire experience
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel
- Experience working with multiple departments in an organization
Safety:
- Observe and follow health and safety regulations
- Enforces operating instructions and safety policies.
- Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures
- Maintain detailed records of safety incidents
- Assign designated safety personnel
- Maintain warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
