As part of this expansion in the US, XNRGY is seeking a qualified Plant Controller to join its team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the activities of the facility based in Arizona. The incumbent is responsible for the costing model that optimizes production costs, serving as the communication channel between production and finance. They will work closely with the VP of Operations, assisting in costing, communicating, and achieving the production business unit (BU) objectives.
An overview of your responsibilities:
- Partner with plant management to monitor manufacturing performance with detailed production cost analysis to highlight deviations to budget and provide actionable recommendations to close the gaps
- In collaboration with the VP operations and department leads, establish annual budget (by pro-duction stage and product type) and monthly forecasts that contribute meeting budget objectives
- Work closely with operations to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs, inven-tory adjustments, develop and maintain accurate BOM; in alignment with the production process and provide effective analysis of production variances.
- Partner with operations teams to manage inventory levels and minimize obsolescence
- Collaborate as a team with the Canadian finance group.
- Supervision of the work and development of the assistant-controller (to be hired)
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data in various systems and compliance with company policies
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government tax regulations, audits, and reporting requirements
- Train stakeholders in the production process on the proper use of the system to ensure accurate cost representation in the financial statements
- Be the link between users and IT team to improve processes effectiveness
- Support Operations with continuous improvement or any business initiatives
What you'll need, among other things!
- 5-10 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in a large company is an asset
- University degree in accounting; Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants / CPA designation
- Demonstrate leadership and the ability to work as part of a team
- Exhibit a data and automation-oriented management style and vision.
- Ability to understand the company's objectives and translate them into priorities.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools
- Spoken spanish is an asset
- Participation in company or project startups (an asset).
