This position is within the Engineering Solutions Group in XP Power San Jose CA and is responsible for testing hardware within environmental and HALT chambers. This includes setup of the unit, operation, data recording, monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and report generation. Carrying out testing of equipment and other hardware systems including AC/DC, DC/DC, high power, low power, high voltage, and low voltage switch mode power supplies.

Job Description
This position is within the Engineering Solutions Group in XP Power San Jose CA and is responsible for testing hardware within environmental and HALT chambers. This includes setup of the unit, operation, data recording, monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and report generation. Carrying out testing of equipment and other hardware systems including AC/DC, DC/DC, high power, low power, high voltage, and low voltage switch mode power supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support validation activities of test equipment, including HALT and other reliability tests.
- Make harnesses and assemble custom electronic assemblies from electrical schematics and BOMs
- Liaise with cross-functional teams (Mechanical engineering, Manufacturing and Quality engineering) to facilitate testing processes
- Work with the sourcing team on procurement and tracking of material needed for the test setup
- Assemble, disassemble, and modify power supply prototypes and troubleshoot electrical circuits down to the component level. Solder and rework fine pitch components, 0201, 0402, QFNs, BGAs, etc.
- Other duties may be assigned
- Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 7-10 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry with hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting PCBAs and electric equipment
- Power supply and/or high voltage experience a plus
- Must be able to setup tests, understand computer interface to various equipment including devices under test. instrument devices with thermocouples, sensors, electronic loads
- Hands-on experience with constructing and building electronics testing fixtures/equipment
- Familiarity in the operation of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscope, voltage and current sensors, electronic loads etc
- Experience with test data collection and analysis, strong sense of quality
- Able to read and understand electronic schematics
- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
