The Director of Engineering Projects is responsible for providing oversight, control, and project management to our facilities. This includes design, permits, installation, start-up of new processes and equipment related to facility expansion, and modifications or improvements to the existing processes & equipment.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Conceives, designs, and manages expensive capital projects to completion.
- Leads various aspects of large-scale projects including managing Cost, Scope, Schedule, Risk including construction and contractor management.
- Hands on large project construction, commissioning and start-up activities.
- Addresses and mitigates scope changes, drive and respond to critical path items and works minimize impact.
- Provides process-engineering support for operation and maintenance needs; Delivers engineering support required for facility operating permits and periodic renewals related to existing processes and proposed additions/modifications.
- Offers engineering expertise and guidance for purchasing various parts and components related to the process equipment.
- Participates in HAZOP and PHA reviews with facility staff to ensure conformance and for good operating practices.
- Assists and mentors other junior engineering personnel when appropriate.
Qualifications
- 10-15 years' Engineering experience in a petrochemical, refinery, or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Chemical Engineering degree highly preferred.
- Experience managing $35M projects.
- Knowledge of PHA/HAZOP methods.
- Process troubleshooting experience.
- Maintains knowledge of specific types of process equipment, plant piping and valves, pumps, and rotating equipment.
- Team oriented, highly motivated and takes initiative.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels within the organization.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft project.
- Ability to travel to various facilities as required.

Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
