We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to service the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) SFO Recreation Sites at the Socorro Field Office.
Job Description: The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at the Box Canyon and Socorro Nature Area restrooms. This part-time position requires working twice per week, on Mondays and Fridays, with occasional schedule adjustments for holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Sweep floors and associated walkways.
- Wash and scrub interior walls, doors, seats, risers, handrails, door handles, and toilet paper dispensers with disinfectant; wipe dry.
- Refill toilet paper dispensers, ensuring two full rolls are always stocked.
- Remove litter and unhealthy refuse; dispose of waste at an appropriate offsite facility.
- Mop floors and eliminate any excess water.
- Transport water to the site for cleaning tasks.
- Notify the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) when vault contents reach 2/3 full.
- Report any vandalism or maintenance issues to the COR.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable transportation to travel between Box Canyon and Socorro Nature Area.
- Capability to transport water and cleaning supplies to the sites.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Schedule:
- Mondays and Fridays (6 hours per week, 3 hours per visit across both locations).
- Flexibility to adjust schedule around federal holidays.
